Rodrigo Abril de Abreu is the Coordinator of the “Lab in a Box” project. He graduated in Technological Physics Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon and holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the PhD Program in Neurosciences of the Champalimaud Foundation (INDP). He developed his doctoral thesis at the University of Vienna (Austria), the Institute of Applied Psychology (ISPA) and the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC), where he investigated cognitive mechanisms of social behavior. He was a guest researcher in the Blackbox – Arts & Cognition project, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences – Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (FCSH-UNL), where he studied creative decision-making processes in the performing arts. He was a co-founder of the science education project “Sciencecalifragilistic” of the Champalimaud Foundation.
Outside the world of science research and communication, Rodrigo worked in strategic planning, as a creative in Advertising Agencies, and is the author of illustrated children’s books.
